Vehicle Description
The El Camino like most other "Utes" or "Coupe Pickups" were
basically a modified already existing station wagon platform.
Australia was the first to use these funky two-seat automobiles and
if I am not mistaken still build them to this day....The second
generation of El Camino was largely built on the Chevelle platform
and for 1964 would carry the "Chevelle" and "El Camino" badging.
The second generation cars would be built until 1967 and to this
day are the most popular among collectors. This absolute stunner of
a El Camino is a wonderful example that in my opinion is a highly
optioned example with accessory group EX (Tint and Power Windows)
2KMP (Factory Air Condition, Powerglide Transmission, Comfort and
Convenience pack) 3C Instrument panel pad. Has tilt, power brakes,
power-steering and is finished in a gorgeous red. Original color
was Ermine white over red interior. This car was built in Van Nuys
which was for one year only for the El Camino. This car has been
painted twice in its life, red both times. The A/C still blows
cold, the power windows work, all lights work and this car is a
absolute pleasure to drive down the road. The car has had all new
brakes, tires and batteries recently and is 100% ready to go. The
A/M radio has been removed but is available as are the original
wheels with hub-caps. This car starts on a dime and drives great.
The paint is really good as is the interior. This car does not
smoke or leak and has excellent care and storage from a collector.
I think you will be hard pressed to find another nicer in this
price range.
