This vehicle and its history deserve your close attention. It is a
first generation 1954 Chevrolet Corvette 'survivor'. One of only
3640 Corvettes built on the second year of production. This Vette
survivor has been owned and maintained in the same family since
new, passed down from the sister who had purchased the car, to the
younger brother. The same brother that had advised and recommended
that she buy a Corvette back in 1954. A car that has taken her
husband, a doctor, on house calls in its early days, taken the lady
of the house on shopping trips and ushered the Colorado couple on
exciting weekend and cross-country getaways. This sweet roadster
would have so many stories to tell if it could only talk. After the
brother took possession of the car in 2014, all necessary
maintenance was professionally performed with original replacement
GM parts whenever available, or the original parts were rebuilt. He
then embarked on a tour of car shows throughout the Midwest.
Driving the car to the shows gave testament to the mechanical
soundness and functionality of the car. Some 80 shows later he had
collected an impressive display of trophies and plaques for his
efforts. We received 55 awards with the vehicle. The car retains
its character markings collected over its lifetime, some attributed
to General Motors and one in particular to a neighbor kid's
bicycle, all proof of its survivor status. We hesitantly offer this
rare and beautiful car for sale. We will consider offers at or
above our expectation. Prospective buyers must appreciate that the
inherent value of a car of this rarity demands it be kept in its
original state as much as possible to show the artistry of the
early days of this icon of American built sports cars. This is not
a car for tire kickers, this car is for the discriminating
collector and investor. If you need to ask someone for permission
to spend the money, do so in advance. This is a serious car for the
collector with sufficient means. For details not apparent in the
