Vehicle Description
Get out your dream Cobra checklists. Does it have a stroked 427 big
block... fuel injection... five-speed... four-wheel discs... a
fresh fully independent suspension... slick paint... the best
classic details... growling side pipes? If your list is as
extensive as this, then it's time to get to know this 1967 Shelby
Cobra by Unique Motorcars.
This car was initially completed in 1992, but the last five years
are what's really important to know. In that time, this one has
been given a comprehensive restoration that has built up the
suspension and frame so that the awesome upgraded motor also has
all the right tools for you to enjoy it to the fullest. But before
we describe what makes this your track-day hero, take a look at the
quality of the body. The blue paint has a smooth presentation and a
terrific metallic element that lets the car radiate. So it lets the
sunlight show off the curvaceous fenders that make this car a
legend. The white stripes are quite nicely done, stretching from
the oil cooler opening to the rear pan. And you'll note that they
wrap into the engine compartment and trunk lip - evidence of
careful painters at work. A chrome roll hoop for the driver, a
raked windshield with wind wings, and Halibrand replica wheels, all
of it quite authentic-looking.
The interior was part of the car's restoration, and so it's fresh,
black, and competition-ready. There's an eye for authenticity while
still adding the right upgrades. For example, you have classic
low-back bucket seats, but they have the right thigh bolstering for
true comfort. The seatbelts have the classic lap belt look, but
they hook into proper five-point harnesses.
And while the stick shift has the class bent-forward style, this
one has an extra gear for you to enjoy compared to the original
Cobra. Possibly our favorite upgraded place is the dash. There are
new AutoMeter gauges, but they keep the correct layout, right down
to the reversed speedometer. And the Holley EFI touchscreen mounted
on the side lets you know there's something extra special under the
hood.
If you're a horsepower lover, then you'll be lifting the hood
wherever you park just so you can point out all the pieces of this
monster motor. It's a Ford 427 cubic-inch top-oiler stroked to
482ci. It has been further enhanced and fortified with an Eagle
specialty crankshaft, Eagle connecting rods, ARP bolts, UEM forged
pistons, Hastings chrome moly rings, Clevite bearings, a Comp Cams
hydraulic roller camshaft, Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum heads,
and an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. And it's topped off with
Holley Terminator electronic fuel injection for the best in power
and consistency. This has all the best supporting components,
including a Melling high-volume oil pump, Edelbrock water pump, MSD
6AL ignition, and an aluminum radiator with three electric fans.
And ceramic-coated headers add even more power while contributing
to the thunder of those side pipes. Everything looks so fresh,
right down to the Cobra valve covers because there are less than
1,000 miles on this since it completed the latest restoration. Part
of that big investment included a new square-tube steel frame and
tubular A-arm front suspension. We particularly love the fresh look
of the Jaguar rear end that gives you a fully independent
suspension and inboard rear disc brakes.
There is so much to go over on this build that you really need to
call us for all the details. We even have the build info,
maintenance records, and restoration photos to give you the
detailed data on this awesome Cobra. It even comes with a racing
tonneau and a full car cover that includes the racing stripe. Oh
yeah, this is your dream big block dominator. But if you want it to
live in your garage, you need to call today!
