1967 FJ45L: I found this beauty in 2009 in northern AZ. It had a 350 SBC conversion when I got it. As with most older 350 conversions, it was a fairly poor job. But what sold me was the condition of the frame and body panels: Unrusted solid frame and all solid and unrusted original body panels.
When I got it home, over the years, the following has been done:
Body-off rust proofing, LINEX on cab interior, wheel wells, frame and truck bed
New universal wiring harness, front and rear leaf springs (Old Man EMU), bushings, shocks
Many gaskets and bearings were replaced on the transmission, transfer case, front/rear differentials. No mods done to transmission, transfer case, or differentials
All suspension, most steering components were rebuilt. Newer U-Joints all around
NEW 350/350 BluePrint SBC with less than 5000 miles. Summit aluminum heads, aluminum four-core radiator with manual fan, (can be changed out to an adjustable temp fan with the included Holley Sniper Fuel Injection in about 5 minutes). Weiand aluminum intake, and aluminum water pump. Replaced conversion kit with Advanced Adapter 350 SBC conversion kit and their clutch pack consisting of friction disc, pressure plate, and TO bearing. Summit mini-starter. Ceramic coated headers with true dual exhaust
Holley Sniper Fuel Injection system, MSD6A ignition, Proform distributor w/50K coil: Just tuned up with new plugs, distro cap/rotor. ACCEL ceramic spark plug boots
Ford Aerostar minivan seats, JTO disc rear brakes with power brake booster, the four tires have at least 80% tread, the spare tire is new
JTO front disc conversion kit, never out of the box, (Truck now runs the OEM drum front brakes), comes with the sale.
All five tires match, 33x12.50RLT on Summit steel rims
Aftermarket gauges, GPS driven speedometer, all signal lights are LED
18 Gallon TANKS Inc. gas tank with Fuel Injection set up
Two light bars, two Infra red military issue spotlights
Transmission is the OEM 3 speed with OEM transfer case, front and rear ends, floor shift conversion
Sale comes with bikini top, OEM hardtop, hard-top doors, and tailgate. All glass is original with no cracks
Rear swing out tailgate made by Rockhard with spare tire/gas can rack is also Lynexed. Dog grate in the rear is easily removed
Stereo, CB radio, PA system, two light bars, many charging outlets for phones, computers, etc. Solar lights for night parking, solar panel to charge the battery if sitting for a long time.
Optima Yellow Top battery, Sirius FM radio docking station
How does sit run? Drive it away now. Practically flawless. It starts right up in any weather condition, can climb trees in low, and idles like a sewing machine. Runs about 2700 RPM at 65MPH. I intended to make an overlander that was reliable as its first point as I go to very remote areas back in Colorado: Hitting 12,500 feet on various passes has passed under this FJ. The FJ and I now live in Central/SE MO. Unlike some V8 conversions, this one DOES NOT overheat. You won't find another FJ LONG BED that is actually driven in the wild in this good of shape, mechanically or cosmetically.
The bad: Heater box is not hooked up, but the blower motor works when applied power. Heater core most likely needs to be replaced
The pics you see were taken after a three day trip near Leadville, Colorado, and was just unloaded. It was our last trip, and frankly, we hate to see her go. I don’t drive it in the snow, garage kept.
WHAT DOES NOT COME WITH SALE: Front winch. If in doubt about what is not for sale in the pics, please ask.
Price is $29,999.00 FIRM: No trades, no other offers. Title is free and clear in my name. I live near Rolla, MO and that is where the truck is at. I am the owner and this is a private sale. I can assist, but not provide transport to the new owner.
More pictures are available upon request. After that, actually talking to me is the first step in showing that you are serious about an honest and smooth sale. Good communication is the key to buying this FJ, and Ill answer any and all questions. I highly encourage that potential buyers come and look at it.
