Vehicle Description
1942 Buick Special Sedan. This was an abbreviated year for Buick
and all the other automakers with Buick production ending February
4, 1942 after the U.S. entered World War II. This Special Sedan was
purchased from the original Phoenix, Arizona owner in 2002 with
17,500 confirmed miles on the odometer. It runs and drives very
nicely. The Buick was part of the 41SE Series and has the Century
interior which was used on only two models in this series. The five
main bearing 248ci overhead valve straight-eight engine is mated to
a 3-speed synchromesh manual transmission. The engine features dual
Stromberg carburetors. Much of its life this car was warehoused in
Idaho which may explain why it has such low mileage. The factory
price for these Special Sedans was $1287 and 2286 of these were
produced before the factory was converted for military production.
