Vehicle Description
Nicknamed "Edgar," this stunning triple-white 1979 Beetle
convertible has undergone a full restoration. The car was
disassembled, body panels were stripped to bare metal and the car
was treated to a professional paint job. The restoration also
included a new convertible top and new period-correct carpets, and
the engine was rebuilt with less than 100 miles since completion.
The engine rebuild included a new OE engine case, new dual-port
heads, new connecting rods and a new 69mm counterweighted
crankshaft. As part of the restoration, some modern upgrades were
also performed, such as front disc brakes and heated seats. This
Beetle is powered by a fuel-injected 1600cc dual-port engine mated
to a 4-speed manual transmission. It rides on Empi BRM wheels
wrapped in Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires. Service receipts since
2012 totaling $15,871 are included with the sale.
