Vehicle Description
This 1968 Chevrolet K10 short-bed stepside 4-wheel drive pickup was
finished in a gloss red with black SS stripes on the
cowl-induction-style hood. It is powered by a Fi-Tech fuel-injected
327ci engine (casting number 3973370 cylinder heads) backed by a
Muncie SM465 manual transmission and a 12-bolt rear end. It
includes its factory front locking hubs for the 4-wheel drive
system. It sits on a 115-inch wheelbase chassis with the shorter
6.5-foot, stepside bed. The bed has been replaced with wood planks
and locking strips painted to match the exterior. The stock bench
seat was reupholstered, the carpet and dash pad were replaced, and
both doors and lower dash were painted red to match the exterior.
The gauge cluster has a newer bezel along with a factory-style
3-spoke wood-grain steering wheel. Ongoing improvements include the
installation of power steering, air conditioning, seat belts and a
horn. The brakes have been rebuilt and cables replaced, with a hand
brake added. The 1-2 center shaft bearings and seals were replaced
on the Muncie SM 465 manual transmission. The clutch and pressure
plate were replaced and the flywheel resurfaced. The Fi-Tech fuel
injection was added in April 2020.
