Vehicle Description
This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is a real-deal Super Sport, and it
carries the best classic details that you love - including a
four-speed. But it also has been upgraded with an awesome 502
cubic-inch V8. So the full build shows off its thumping power by
giving you added flair and also added comfort - including an A/C
interior. The result is a street-eating muscle car legend with all
the upgrades you want already in place.
A real-deal 1968 Chevelle is a dream car for many of us. It's the
year Chevy got extra aggressive with the sharply pointed front end
and fastback profile. This Super Sport has some great details, like
the blackout grille that flows right into the black lower rockers.
And the dual power domes in the hood, blackout rear panel, wide
dual exhaust tips, and upgraded 17-inch Vision wheels are all part
of the full intimidation factor. But take some extra time looking
at the details. There is a hint of pearlescent in the white paint
to make sure it glows better in the sunshine. And the racing
stripes were painted on using a dark gray metallic so they have the
depth and detail of a starry night sky. Plus, all the brightwork -
including the form-hugging chrome bumpers - is excellent and
mirror-like. So while this is unmistakably a mean machine, it's
also an all-around stunner.
The interior was freshly restored only a few years ago. It has a
deep black style with a clean look on the carpet, door panels,
dash, and headliner. And we particularly like the look of the seat
covers that get the classic style correct, right down to the
button-top presentation. There are some nice luxuries here, like
the cold-blowing air conditioning, and the well-integrated USB
ports that allow you to plug in everything from your cell phone to
modern music players. But the real focus here is on the driver. You
have bucket seats up front, a grippy sports steering wheel, and a
Hurst shifter. And the full gauge package has been replaced with
crisp/clean dials that include a large speedo and tach.
While the SS396 came with a street dominating big block for its
era, this one shows off what over half a century of evolution can
do. You still have big block power, but now it's a BIGGER 502
cubic-inch V8. This is showcased with style on the smooth white
firewall, and the inner fenders and radiator support have been done
in a metallic gray to match the exterior stripes. More than just
stylish, this upgraded motor has substance. It has been enhanced
with a Holley double-pumper four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock
Performer RPM intake, Brodix aluminum heads, and a full roller
valve train. It fires up with a snarl and idles in a way that lets
you know there's a performance camshaft working inside. The Muncie
M20 four-speed gives you firm control of both the power and high
octane soundtrack. This feeds a stout 12-bolt rear with 3.55 gears
on a limited-slip diff for all-around versatility and confidence.
And with power steering, power brakes, front discs, sway bars front
& rear, and modern sport tires, this is a solid all-around
driver.
This is the icon that's vintage in the right places and upgraded
where you really want it. So don't miss out on this big block Super
Sport. Call today!!!
