I bought this car 20 years ago from a farmer in western Illinois. He has a hobby of collecting '55-'57 Chevrolets and restoring them in his barn. He found this one in Arizona. He swapped out the engine and transmission and replaced a leaking gas tank. It now has a 283 engine and a turbo-glide (3-speed automatic) trans mission. The space heater has a minor coolant leak and I just disconnected it (don't need heat in Florida). I understand that a custom A/C is available for this model.
On the outside this car looks to have repainted at some time in the past and it remains in good condition. No evidence of any damage. Inside, the fabric is worn on the driver's door but all else is in good stock condition.
I put only 2495 miles on this car and it has been kept in my garage. In fact, it remained unused in my garage for the last six years. In order to get it running again I put in a new battery and fuel pump. It runs well and looks good.
