This 1953 Buick Super 8 Convertible was built for boulevard cruising and this one is ready to roll! The Super was Buick's mid-level model line in 1953, plusher than the Special but less expensive than the Roadmaster. The '53 Super shared a number of important features from the upper level Roadmasters including Buick's brand new V8 engine and the Roadmaster's longer wheelbase. Of course, from the outside, it is easy to distinguish a Super from a Roadmaster because the Super has 3 Ventiports (compared to the Roadmaster's 4). Powering this '53 Buick is a "Nailhead" 322 Cubic Inch V8 paired with a single 2 barrel carburetor that pushed out 164 horsepower in its day. The 322 Nailhead V8 is mated up to an automatic transmission which means that anybody can take this classic Buick for a spin. The engine also features a few minor upgrades for improved reliability, including an electric fuel pump and an alternator replacing the generator. Like many Supers in the day, this particular '53 Super is a well optioned example. With power steering, getting in and out of tight spaces is much easier. Bringing this '53 Buick to a stop is also made easier with front power brakes. The exterior of this '53 Buick Super Convertible has been refinished in Majestic White which is a nice contrast to the black canvas convertible top. The bench seat interior on this Buick Super appears to have been recently reupholstered in Black and Red Vinyl complementing the exterior look of the car. The dash appears to be in in its stock configuration, complete with a speedometer, oil pressure gauge, gas gauge, temperature gauge, amp gauge, clock, and AM radio. The door panels, carpeting, and steering wheel also have a fantastic, well-maintained look.
