This car has been held in collections for quite some time. Recently, a good friend purchased it. He loves four speed cars and enjoys driving them. He drives them and sorts out any little issues. Unfortunately, he needed to sell some of his collection. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to purchase a couple of his great cars.
The Trans Am was always of interest to me. Not only because it is a four speed car, but because it is in great condition, has its numbers matching powertrain and has only been driven 65,000 miles. It is because of the color combination, that I was truly attracted. I see a lot of Silver and Black 79 Trans Ams, but not many white with blue.
We have a copy of the original window sticker for this car. It is nicely optioned and it helps to describe the car. It has been PHS documented, but I do not possess the actual file from PHS.
This car has the Pontiac 400 engine and a Muncie 4 speed transmission. The Shaker induction system is functioning properly. The rear end contains 3.73 gears and Limited Slip Differential. The W6 “Special Performance Package” was ordered. So it has the larger sway bars and four wheel disc brakes. The braking system is power, as is the steering.
The W6 package upgrades the wheels to 15x8. The “Snowflake” wheels look great and are shorn with Goodyear Eagle GT 255/60/15 tires. The spare tire is the “Stowaway” space saver. The original jack is present.
This car was born with Air Conditioning. It was converted to 134a Freon and is functioning properly. The windows are all made of Soft Ray tinted glass. The rear window has a Defogger.
The dual exhaust system was recently upgraded with new mufflers and tail pipes. I believe the exhaust pipes and converters are original to the car. The braking system has all been renewed from the booster and master cylinder all the way to the calipers and rotors. The suspension has been serviced and new bushings and shocks were installed.
When the car was new, it was rust-proofed and undercoated. Thus, the body and underside are completely rust-free. The body was repainted to the original Cameo White some time ago. I believe it to be a base coat/clear coat finish. It looks great. At the time of the repaint, all new decals were installed. This car was built with dual sport mirrors. The driver’s side is remote controlled.
The Blue Vinyl interior looks great. It is a very nice color compliment to the exterior. I believe the front seats were reupholstered, as they look too perfect to be original. The carpet, headliner and dash are in excellent condition. This car was built with color matching seat belts and center console. It has the Courtesy and Convenience Lighting packages.
The original AM/FM Stereo works great. There are rear speakers. The antenna is powered. The Gauge Package was ordered and they all work perfectly. Even the clock works! Pulse wipers were also ordered.
This is a well sorted car with low mileage. Everything is working properly with exception of the horn. There are two sets of keys and they work all locks. The Owner’s Manual is in the glovebox.
This is a beautiful Trans Am. It is very nicely equipped, especially having Air Conditioning, W6 package and the Muncie four speed. You will enjoy driving it and will be proud to display it wherever you wish.
