For Sale: 1969 Pontiac GTO (The Judge) in San Diego , California

Vehicle Description

1969 GTO judge

This authentic 242-code 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Restomod only has 685 miles since the complete, "no expense spared" restoration was finished, with motivation coming from an aggressive 400 YD V-8 engine built and backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. This Restomod superbly detailed and professionally built.

EXTERIOR

Starting with the build included restoring the body with a respray in the correct Carousel Red (72-72) paint. using PPG paint, the finish is exceptionally good condition with bright shine and luster. No rust throughout. The only apparent deviance from stock that standout is its awesome ride height and perfectly staggered alloy interpretations of the classic Pontiac Rally II wheels.

INTERIOR

Like the exterior, this GTO’s black (258) interior appears mostly stock, but it hides a few more subtle enhancements. During the restoration, the upholstery, door panels, carpet and other major trim components were replaced with new parts from Legendary Interiors. It has a new steering wheel. The bucket seats were enhanced with bolsters. Other updates include Auto_Meter gauges. All of the gauges and interior lights work normally.

POWERTRAIN

Under the hood is a YD (0605408) coded 400-cubic-inch V-8 that has not been dyno-tested but has an attitude that wants to go. The engine and engine bay show great with an Edelbrock Air air-cleaner assembly. Supporting elements include a Holley four-barrel double pumper, Edelbrock RPM aluminum heads, Doug's long-tube headers, an MSD distributer, an aluminum radiator with twin BeCool electric polished fans, March pulley system, polished pulleys, polished brake booster and master cylinder. The engine starts, idles, runs and sounds very aggressive.

Backing the built 400 engine is a Muncie M20 (3925660; Suffix: P9E20A) 4-speed manual transmission, matched with a Hurst shifter. The gearbox channels torque via a newly balanced driveshaft to a Currie (3430), with Posi 3.70.1 gears. There are no reported issues or leaks with the drivetrain components.

CHASSIS

In true Restomod tradition, the suspension elements were updated for a more contemporary driving experience. The Front upgrades include drop spindles new coilovers and new sway bar bushings. The Pontiac Rally II 19x8 turns great with Michelin Pilot Sport 225/35/19's.  At the rear, an Art Morrison sub-frame allows for the Pontiac Rally II 20X12 with 5.75 backspacing with Michelin Pilot Sport 335/30/ZR20's, while the 3 link and adjustable coilovers give it just the right height and traction needed. There's also a newer four-wheel-disc brake system.

The car rolls on PMD Racing Rally’s. The tires are showing good tread depth all around. The suspension and wheel/tire upgrades transform the driving dynamics of the Restomod into a traction grabbing road hugging beast. No issues with the handling or braking of this reimagined Judge.
