Vehicle Description
This is a gorgeous presenting Silver Shadow sedan finished in Shell
Grey (silver) with light blue/grey Connolly hide interior. It has a
single hand-painted burgundy fine line to the waist-rails and
hubcap beauty trim rings which complement wonderfully. The
combination is adorably elegant. This car was a West Coast car most
of its life but little is known of its history. It did sit for
several years. When we received the car it was in good shape and
certainly an above average example only needing very minor cosmetic
refurbishment. Mechanically, we went right thru her to bring all
services major and minor up to date. The exterior of the car is
straight and rust free with the underside clean and tidy. The paint
is in excellent condition with the finish high in lustre and
consistent all over. It was repainted (in her original colour)
about some 15 years ago. The quality of the paint job is good and
today only shows minor blemishes. Overall, the exterior presents
beautifully with all chrome and glass in good condition. Inside
door edges and jams are clean and tidy. The interior of the car is
truly excellent. The interior leather is entirely original Connolly
from factory and remains soft and supple. The leather finish
displays the "toned hand-tanning" look that Rolls-Royce was doing
for a limited time in the 60s and 70s. The leather is not just a
blue/grey colour; if you look closely, you will see a toned or
"burnished" effect which gives the leather a quasi-antique
presentation. It is a very traditional look and indeed very
elegant. The interior is without any tears or unsightly wear marks
whilst displaying just the right amount of patina. Door panels,
interior chrome work, gauges and instruments are all in very fine
condition. The car even sports its original Philips push-button
radio. The light African burl walnut is all original and displays
in the traditional low-sheen/satin finish that is consistent with
the factory process. It is all in very fine condition and, like the
leather, without damage but displaying just the right degree of
patina. This includes all 4 doors, dash, console, window surrounds
and rear vanity mirrors. And, with the beauty of only the best of
burl walnut, the grain in this Silver Shadow displays a very
intense pattern and colour. From rich yellow ochres to rich reds
and browns. It is truly stunning. Mechanically the car is offered
in very fine shape. All Park-Ward cars go thru an intensive
reconditioning process at our in-house service facilities. Both pre
and post-sale ("Predelivery Commissioning"). This includes
addressing all the hydraulics/braking system. All maintenance and
services are brought up to date to include important expensive
items - such as brake pumps, accumulators, calipers, pads and brake
lines. The engine truly purrs and gear-change is smooth and quiet.
The car is very spritely in power which is a good sign of a well
cared for and good condition motor. The odometer reads 26,300 miles
which are not verifiable. We are not sure if this is correct
mileage but we don't believe its clocked over either. The car is
"too nice" for that and looks every bit a low mileage example.
Tyres are brand new 215/75 15 whitewalls and present perfectly.
They are a adorned with dent-free hubcaps that are not only
straight but the stainless steel shiny. A/C blows ice cold and the
heater works well. Electricals are all serviced by Park-Ward so
windows, seats and features & functions work as they should. All
interior and exterior lighting has been checked with all bulbs and
lamps operating correctly. This Silver Shadow very comfortably
ranks as a 10-out-of-10 driver quality example.
