1956 Chevrolet Sierra Gold
Car History
The Chevrolet Bel Air was a full-size car produced by Chevrolet for
the 1950-1981 model years. Initially only the two door hardtops in
the Chevrolet model range were designated with the Bel Air name
from 1950 to 1952, as distinct from the Styleline and Fleetline
models for the remainder of the range.
The 1956 Bel Air back then received a face-lift with a more
conventional full-width grille, pleasing those customers who didn't
favor the Ferrari-inspired '55 front end. Distinctive two-tone
bodyside treatments and graceful front and rear wheel openings
completed the "speedline" restyling.
The Sierra Gold 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air we have here at Adventure
Classics has been restored back to a factory stock look with mods
done to make it more powerful, comfortable, and handle better.
Engine & Drivetrain
To begin with, the engine in this sharp 56 is a 283 cubic inch
small Block Chevrolet V8 that has a 4-barrel carb, aluminum and a
mild cam giving it nice performance and a nice deep sound. It also
has power steering and power brakes.and nicely detailed engine
compartment.
It is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and rides on a new
set of black wall tires with custom chrome 5-spoke mag wheels. It
also sounds great with the dual exhaust system running out the back
of the car thru the chrome custom exhaust tips.
Interior
The sierra gold and cream theme continues on the inside. This is
the factory color combo, and its level of completeness is amazing.
It starts with the bench seat in front cover with sierra gold/creme
two-tone upholstery and the matching back seat and door panels,
sierra gold carpeting, bright trim, factory steering wheel, floor
mats, and great headliner.
The dash is trimmed out in the exterior color, factory gauges,
knobs, controls, stainless trim, and the factory AM radio and has
the factory clock.
Exterior
Our 1956 Chevy was a big seller back then because of the daring
colors, chrome, powerful V8, and rocket-inspired designs. The
two-tone Sierra Gold and Calypso Cream paint is perfect and
period-correct on the Bel Air with the great chrome grille, trim,
bumpers, and all the emblems complete this is total package.
And the iconic rocket like hood ornament and taillights are great
touches that remind you that this Chevy was designed like the jet
age it was made in.
The body lines are great and include the styling cues that make
this Tri-Five look so good. Single housings incorporated the
taillight, stoplight, and backup light, and the left one held the
gas filler to really ad to this 56's aesthetics.

The 1956 restored Chevrolet Bel Air we have at Adventure Classics

comfortable, durable, fast, and safe as well as owning a
