Vehicle Description
Time to fall in love/lust with one of the best restomods you'll
ever find. Because while the exterior looks like a terrific tribute
to a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible, when you look
closer, you'll see a custom A/C interior, a sweet fuel-injected
crate V8, a five-speed stick, four-wheel disc brakes, an upgraded
suspension, and all wrapped in a super-sleek package. So you get
the best of an icon done so you can enjoy it with the best
confidence and comfort.
When building a tribute car that surpasses the original, you must
first make sure that the body outshines them. All the important
stuff is here, including a fiberglass hood, hood pins, extended
nose, quarter panel scoops, and well-integrated trunk lid spoiler.
Some details are done to look vintage, like the racing lights in
the grille, wide T-bird inspired taillights, and the snake-bitten
gas cap. Other pieces are made to give you incognito upgrades, like
how you have the classic looks of Halibrand-style wheels, but in a
larger 17-inch size that allows you to fit better modern tires.
It's a very mean-looking machine in every way, except the paint
can't help but look bright and sunny. It's a quality application
where the deep shine just loves to highlight the crisp lines of the
well-fitting body. The aqua color will remind you of a day out on
the beach. And not only do the GT500 rocker stripes look like the
crest of this ocean wave, but they also look good against the white
convertible top.
The investment didn't just stop with the exterior. You have a
terrific-looking interior done in blue, white, and black. It has
the fresh kind of look that will have you taking the power top down
to show off far more than just the cool/aggressive roll bar. And
this one also has the right upgrades for a great all-around driver.
This starts with updated front seats that appear traditional, but
really have modern bolstering to keep you better planted during
cornering. In-between these buckets is a custom center console.
It's comfortable for easy cruising with features like cold-blowing
air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input and
Bluetooth. And it's built to be an awesome driver with a
wood-rimmed sports steering wheel on a tilt column, a crisp Classic
Instruments gauge package, and a Hurst shifter.
While this car celebrates some of the best classic Mustang and
Shelby pieces, under the hood is something much more modern. It's a
306 cubic-inch Ford V8 by BluePrint Engines, and it's topped with
an MSD fuel-injection system. There's also BluePrint aluminum
heads, an Edelbrock intake, and headers feeding the rumbling dual
exhaust. We even have the dyno sheet from BluePrint showing this is
a 384 horsepower dominator. This is also supported by the right
pieces, like an MSD ignition, billet hood hinges, cast Cobra valve
covers, an Optima red top battery, and an aluminum radiator. You
have complete control over this sound and the fuel-injected V8's
fury thanks to the five-speed manual transmission. Out on the road,
this delivers a GT-level experience with the updated suspension
with Global West components up front and traction bars in the rear.
Plus, with power steering, grippy Michelin tires, and Wilwood
four-wheel power disc brakes, this is an all-around great
driver.
So we can show you the restoration photos and build receipts on
this one, but you already know how superior this build is. Don't
