Vehicle Description
This restored Z/28 was custom ordered during the peak of the muscle
car era and is one of the 20,302 manufactured. Of all 1969 Camaros
produced, fewer than 8.5 percent were finished in this Hugger
Orange color. Fast-forward to 2020 and this Z/28 is still powered
by its original, matching-numbers 302ci DZ solid-lifter V8 engine.
General Motors and Chevrolet conservatively rated these engines at
290hp; however, the performance lends to a higher output number
rumored of the 375hp range. The Camaro has been repainted in its
original color of Hugger Orange, correct to factory Trim Tag, and
the ivory/black vinyl interior is in great condition. The Z/28 is
nicely equipped with an M21 4-speed manual transmission, Hurst
shifter, 12-bolt posi-traction rear end with 3.73 gear ratio, power
front disc brakes and dual exhaust. The Trim Tag shows this car to
have been built in the Norwood assembly plant during the second
week of January 1969, and indicates the car as being an X33-code
Camaro containing the Z/28 Special Performance Equipment. Equipment
includes factory smog system, aluminum intake manifold, finned
aluminum valve covers, chrome air cleaner, factory exhaust
manifolds, Rally stripes, chrome bumpers, rear bumperettes, front
and rear spoilers, chrome side mirror, 15-inch Rally wheels,
Goodyear Polyglas tires, tinted glass, AM/FM cassette radio, Strato
bucket seats, seat belts and full-size spare tire. This Z/28 is in
great condition, both cosmetically and mechanically, and is ready
to be shown or cruised. Documentation includes a copy of the
original sales invoice and the original owner's manual. A Camaro
Hi-Performance Certificate of Authenticity and Appraisal Report by
Jerry MacNeish are included as well.
