Vehicle Description
This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS tribute is already a desirable
classic for its sporty prowess. But when you add all the great
factory-correct features like the distinct paint, A/C interior,
houndstooth seats, four-speed manual, and upgraded V8 power, it's a
speedy classic with an irresistible style.
It's hard not to get excited when you see the first-generation
Camaro presented in the factory-correct Rallye Green. It's not a
common sight, and that makes an instant distinction. It's believed
this car was restored in the early 2000s, and the finish reflects a
quality application from around that age. So you have a radiant
style that looks good at the stoplights, but nothing too fancy that
will make you nervous about driving it. And as you look at the full
package, it has more great upgrades that signal this is a classic
you can enjoy from behind the wheel. Plus, this has all the right
hints of aggression in upgrades like the Rally Sport's unmistakable
blackout front end. And the D91 bumblebee stripe and deep chin
spoiler complement this in black. You'll spot more great sporty
elements, like the velocity stack hood trim, full-width rear
spoiler, and iconic Rally wheels. The full package also shows crisp
lines and bright chrome bumpers to make sure it's appealing for
more than just its sporty style.
Not only is the exterior distinctive, but the trim tag tells us the
interior was also optioned for the desirable houndstooth cloth
seats. Good cushioning, a smooth dash, and clean door panels make
this quite inviting. There are even green floor mats to go with the
exterior. You also have comfortable upgrades like an AM/FM stereo
w/aux input, updated speakers, and air conditioning. But the best
part is how much this is a driver's machine. You have front bucket
seats, a center console in-between, a wood-rimmed sports steering
wheel. And the auxiliary readouts include a large tach, which goes
well with the Hurst shifter.
Under the hood is a well-presented 350 cubic-inch V8. It's kind of
cool how the red Edelbrock valve covers go with desirable upgrades
like the Optima Red top battery and MSD ignition. This small block
inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales
with added power and authority as headers feed the dual exhaust. In
fact, this is said to have been built up internally with a
four-bolt main, 10.5:1 compression pistons, 501 lift hydraulic cam,
and roller rockers. The Muncie four-speed manul transmission gives
you full control over this V8 power. It feeds a stout 12-bolt rear
that we're told has a desirable Detroit locker rear with 4.11 gears
for quick and confident take-offs. Add in power steering, power
brakes, and front discs, and this one is an all-around solid
classic driver.
This is a Camaro with distinction, power, and comfort. So if you're
looking for an icon with poise and pedigree, this is your V8 dream.
