GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1972 Plymouth Duster 340
for your consideration. This highly original Duster is powered by
its 340ci V8 motor which provides plenty of power to get this
awesome classic cruisin' down the road. Mated to the 340 is a
3-speed manual transmission with floor shifter. The transmission
has no issues shifting between gears and the driving experience
overall is very enjoyable.
The exterior is finished in the original color of Blue Sky and the
selling owner notes that much of the car is still sporting the
original paint. Also left original is the accenting decal tape
stripe running along the side of the vehicle which adds a bit more
character to the overall exterior appearance. It rides on 14-inch
wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires which appear to be in
good condition.
Inside the vehicle is a clean blue vinyl interior that is free of
any major wear with the exception of a crack in the dashboard that
can be seen in the photos on our website. The original interior
bench has been recovered once. All carpeting, dash trim, and door
card trim are in great condition.
This is a fantastic survivor example that is now available to
purchase. Not many Dusters were optioned with the 340ci V8 and
3-speed manual transmission. This example was sold out of Star
Chrysler in Nashville, TN. The car as a whole remains in a good
original condition with very few modifications having been done.
The motor has a direct connection intake, street cam, and hardened
valve seats. The Duster offered here was recently a finalist at the
2021 Mint Festival Car show in St. Johns, MI and has been regularly
driven and stored in a climate controlled garage. Accompanying the
vehicle is the original build sheet, dealer invoice, and other
various original documentation.
The original Plymouth Duster is a semi-fastback two-door coupe
version of the compact-sized Plymouth Valiant automobile that was
marketed by Plymouth in the U.S. from 1970 to 1976 model years. As
the Barracuda grew in dimension, the hole it left in the Plymouth
lineup was filled by the Duster. The Duster produced a sporty,
inexpensive compact that was a lot of bang for the buck. Please
call or email with any questions or for additional information.
