1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Concours 2dr Hardtop finished in Black
paint with vinyl top. This car has been with the same owner for the
last 50 years, he bought it in 1972! This car was originally a
butternut yellow car, has since been repainted to the black you see
today; while still retaining the original black vinyl roof! Vinyl
top is in great shape! The paint is on the older side and there are
imperfections throughout while still having a good shine, see still
pictures. Powered by the NUMBERS MATCHING 327 4bbl V8 ("EA" suffix
code, 275hp) that is paired with the optional Saginaw 4-speed
manual transmission. Nicely equipped with power steering as well!
Original grille and headlight surrounds, front bumper is starting
to show its age. This comes with a copy of the build sheet! Along
the rear fender lips do show some corrosion starting to come
through the paint and some in other areas as well. Riding on Cragar
SS wheels with Goodyear polyglas radials. According to the previous
owner this never saw rain or any winters when he was driving it.
Trunk is in solid shape, take a look in the still pictures. Dual
exhaust exiting the rear with the exhaust itself having been
recently updated. There were only 8,307 total 2dr hardtop Concours
produced in 1968! This car was also special ordered from our area
to boot, (RPO ZK7)! Spare tire, box of seat belts, and fuel pump
will go along with the purchase of this vehicle also. Front seat
belts were removed in the early years of this car, can be added
again and the originals are in the aforementioned box. Original
door panels are on this with the longer Concours arm rests.
Odometer reads 72,481 ORIGINAL miles. Original black vinyl bench
seat interior, there is some black tape on the driver's seat; see
pictures. Being the concours package, this has the bench seat with
fold down armrest! Wipers and radio are in working order! Dash is
in nice shape, shows it was stored indoors. Headliner remains
intact. Aftermarket gauges have been added under the dash as
well.
Some recent service work done to this includes: new front and rear
transmission seals, new clutch, throwout bearing, pressure plate,
new fluids, rear diff, radiator, hoses, rear air shocks replaced
with lines, plug wires, distributor cap, filter, new hood seal, new
wipers and blades, new power steering belt, new exhaust, and a new
trunk mat. 12 bolt rear end with 3.08 posi gears as it was ordered
with, and are still in it! Clutch was replaced at 72,465 miles.
