Vehicle Description
The 1967 Volkswagen Beetle is already highly sought-after thanks to
some unique features only for this year. So to find one that is
coming off of long-term ownership, and it was recently
comprehensively restored, means this is one for the true Bug
enthusiasts.
This Beetle has been under long-term care with the same family, but
the presentation today is not a survivor. They gave it a
comprehensive professional restoration that was complete about five
years ago. They took it down to bare metal and rebuilt the car in a
beautiful Zenith Blue. The finish of the paint, fit of the panels,
and glow of the bumpers all let you know this is one for the car
shows. You'll even like the details, like the body gaskets, running
boards, and new hubcaps. The total package has a quality style, and
that's exactly right for this one. While the Beetle is known for
being a car that doesn't change much, these 1967 had special
single-year features. Up front there was an updated headlight size
that still had the classic front vents. And there are a couple of
added details like the overhangs and clear LED headlights that draw
added attention to this style without losing the history. In the
rear, the decklid was special for this one year only. So this one
is a special car with a quality look that tells you it has been
treated as something special.
The restored interior is just as fresh as the exterior. You can
tell the idea here was to keep the right stock pieces with just the
right comfort upgrades. So you have good-looking off-white
upholstery, and the new materials also give you comfortable gray
cloth inserts. There are the right 1967 details, like the knob-less
ashtray and a separate gas gauge. And of course, the sunroof is a
terrific piece to have. It just makes this one an even more fun
Sunday driver.
This was also the year that the motor was upgraded to a 1500cc
unit, and so it's great to have an era-correct powerplant still
under the rear hatch. The restoration gave it a clean and tidy
stock style, but within it are some very worthwhile upgrades. This
was rebuilt with big valve port heads, a W-100 street cam, and a
new carburetor. There was a new clutch and flywheel. It's part of
the new Freeway Flyer four-speed transmission, which as the name
suggests, is geared to better handle modern highways and
freeways.
This is a single-year Beetle that also has been done to look
sleeker, feel more comfortable, and drive better. So you know it
makes for the ultimate classic VW. Call today!!!
