BMW M, ("M" for "Motorsport"), was initially created to facilitate
BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and
1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle
portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which
they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars
traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions,
interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set
them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and
tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nrburgring racing circuit
in Germany.
For consignment a 2003 BMW M3 series. This example is a highly
optioned, very low original mileage (6,291), and shows as such,
with all these options working. MMMMMMM good!
Exterior
With its dual kidney bean shaped grille, aero xenon headlights and
integrated neoprene bumper painted with body matching Carbon Fiber
Black, this 2-door rocket ship has been tuned to M specifications.
All panels are straight as arrows and are also adorned in them on
either side with a trim spear, some horizontal faux vents in chrome
on the front quarters, and all black window trimmings. A sunroof is
in the top, and shiny quad exhaust tips emerge from the center of
the rear roll pan. Heated side view mirrors, keyless entry, and
rain sensing wipers are just some of the goodies you can experience
with this Beamer. Shiny 19-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in
original all season rubber.
Interior
All sculpted in euro design defines the linens for the interior of
this car. Starting with the gray molded door panels which are
beautifully integrated with the armrests, actuator handle and
Harmon Kardon speakers. A satin plastic anodized aluminum door pull
is a highlighter on these doors. Power front bucket seats, all
wrapped up in Nappa gray leather, and simply showroom condition use
some extra bolsters for when you get goosey with your boot and want
to carve a curve, you remain in these buckets. A black and gray
dash with more beautiful lines, instrument cluster and all the
necessary controls most of them you can perform with a touch of a
button on the steering wheel. In the center is a navi unit which
also includes a backup cam, and full digital sound system with
controls that are easy to see. Below is a digital climate control
center, and this seamlessly melts into a center console housing the
gear shift lever, and power window toggles, along with the sunroof
power switch. Dynamic stability control, speed sensitive variable
steering, all-season traction with M variable Differential lock,
and a flat tire monitoring system are all here and working like a
German cuckoo clock (i.e., Swiss Watch)! Clean carpeting and a
tight headliner is just beautifully covering top and bottom.
Drivetrain
Under the M hood is a high performance 3.2 liter DOHC 24 valve
inline 6-cylinder mill. It is highly tuned for extra performance
and has double VANOS step-lessley variable valve timing, and 6
individual throttles with M dynamic stability control. On the back
is a 6-speed manual transmission throwing power to the rear axle at
a 3.64 rate.
Undercarriage
No rust, all clean and green (well black) with M strut type front
suspension, with forged arms and thrust plates. Gas pressurized
front and rear shocks are also on to keep you glued to the
blacktop, and 4 wheel vented power disc brakes slow the roll.
Drive-Ability
Definitely an E ticket ride, with smooth endless acceleration, rail
like handling, and smooth shifting. Once up to speed not to worry
the disc brakes bring you back down in record space. An extremely
comfy interior with all the conveniences literally on the steering
wheel. So, keep your eyes on the Autobahn sailor.
WOW factor x10 with this super low mileage BMW M3. Tuned and added
extras to make it an M designation, not your everyday BMW 3 series.
Uber clean, and ultra great looks, an ode to the assemblers at
Regensburg, Deutschland. SNELL!
