1971 BMW 1600 PICK-UP CONVERSION
This 1971 BMW 1602 (Chassis: 1572448) is a California example that has been modified into a pick-up truck. Originally powered by a 1.6L M10 inline-4, this car has received a transplanted E36 2.5L straight-six giving it quite the power and response. Shifting is through a 4-speed manual gearbox and further modifications include pick-up bed, sport bike exhaust, M sport seats, and more. This 1602 is offered running, driving and with a clean Florida title.
Originally white, the paint on this 1602 was refinished in burgundy after receiving the pick-up style modifications. Additionally, wood finishing was applied to the border of the bed and rubber was placed as the bed lining. The interior features what appear to be ‘sport M seats’ from a different model covered in black with M-stripes. The period radio is not connected and was replaced with a more modern stereo system. The car currently shows 41,000 miles and has received regular mechanical maintenance over the years.
