Vehicle Description
Here's a real-deal 1971 Pontiac GTO with a big 455 V8, the
factory-correct distinctive color combo, a terrific vintage
interior, and all the right paperwork. So if you're looking for a
loaded muscle machine that stands out in all the best ways, read
on...
This is a real-deal GTO, and it seems to capture the mood of its
era perfectly. The Canyon Copper paint with a white vinyl roof is a
great 1970s color combo that really has the look of premium. After
all, this was the last gasp of the muscle car era. As insurance
premiums were rising, muscle cars also became cars that needed to
appeal to a more upscale clientele. And this one gets to tell that
story well today thanks to a professional respray. This high-gloss
style and clean sheet metal make for the kind of coupe that will
get you invited to some nice car shows. And while premium, it's
also a proper GTO package with the full color-matched front end,
quad exhaust tips, and iconic Rally II wheels.
The sandalwood is quite harmonious with the exterior. After all, it
looks like you mixed the copper paint and white roof together. So
the full package has the kind of coordinated style that will have
you leaving down all the windows on this pillarless hardtop so
people can get a good look inside. The other reason why you'll want
to show this off is because of its time capsule-like style. It has
all the best working details, like the AM radio, dome light, and
vintage-style SW gauges. And the factory air conditioning has even
been switched over to R134a refrigerant. The 8-Track is currently
not playing, but that doesn't stop you from putting a Three Dog
Night cartridge on display just to impress everyone that sees it.
And of course, as a true GTO, it's a proper driver's machine. That
means bucket seats up front, a tilt steering column, and round
gauges with a large speedo and tach.
While we were nearing the end of the muscle car era, it absolutely
was not over in 1971. This GTO has the numbers matching YC block
for the optional 455 cubic-inch V8. The engine is original and it
has a terrific stock and ultra-clean style that makes it ready to
show off. The big V8 fires up eagerly as it inhales deeply from the
correct-style Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. And you'll love the
throaty rumble from the H-pipe dual exhaust. This is the kind of
coupe that's going to make you want to hit the streets, and so they
gave you the right features to enjoy it. The TH400 three-speed
transmission was built to be stout enough to handle the power while
also giving you smooth automatic shifting. This has power steering,
power brakes, front discs, and a rear end with boxed trailing arms
and a sway bar.
This GTO has the look of a significant classic, and so it comes
with significant paperwork. It includes the factory buildsheet,
warranty card, owner's manual, reproduction window sticker, and
Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) documentation. Something this
unique and powerful won't stay with us long, so don't miss out,
call today!
