Vehicle Description
1955 Ford Thunderbird Convertible Red over Red/White interior with
a White Hardtop (only----no soft top in favor of more driver
compartment space). Vehicle is straight, solid, and the red paint
is 2-stage base/clear and is above average in my opinion. No Power
Steering. No Power Brakes. No Power Windows. AM/FM/Stereo with
working cassette player Engine has been upgraded to a non-original
302cu in V8 by the previous owner. This car starts easily, runs
well with plenty of power to move this car nicely. EXTERIOR: Body
is straight and solid. See photos of trunk floor etc. in great
shape. Panel alignment is good at door/quarters and the
hood/decklid. The top fitment is good as well. There are minor
stone chips evident from a car that is clearly enjoyed. Prior owner
added the door edge guards that can be removed for the purists.
Exterior is stock-appearing with vivid red paint and a nice
contrasting white top. INTERIOR: Interior appears to be leather
(?)----it might be high grade vinyl? Not 100% sure. Carpets are in
good shape and minor detailing will make them great. Floor Mats are
OEM-type. The Steering Wheel while sporty, is not original. The
Shifter is also sporty, but not original. Prior Owner put a few
$$'s into modifying the dash for an OE-look by adding gauges to the
center dash area and a tach left of the instrument cluster. The
odometer indicates 62587 and looks correct. The Speedo has quit
working in the last 2 weeks and senior owner hasn't been able to
get it into the shop yet to see why. Seatbelts have been added for
safety. They look and work great. The original soft top & hardware
were removed by prior owner in favor of more leg room in driver
compartment. A vinyl cover behind covers the void nicely. The trunk
has some custom sewing of '55' on the area under the rear upper
deck panel that looks nice. A photo of both sides of rear trunk
floor shows this car to be solid (prior owner came from FL).
MECHANICAL: 302cu in. V8 Engine is clean, no leaks.
