1975 Pontiac Grand Ville Brougham 455 Full-Size Convertible
Car History
The Pontiac Grand Ville, like the bright red 1975 convertible model
we have here at Adventure Classics, was A Full-Size car that was
the Top-Trim Model in The Pontiac line from 1971 to 1975.
From 1973 to 1975 the Grand Ville was Pontiac's only Full-Size
Convertible offering and ours is a rare one with production of the
1975 Grand Ville Convertible was only about 4500.
Engine & Drivetrain
Standard equipment on Grand Ville models included a 400 cubic-inch
V8 engine, but ours has the optional 455 cubic inch engine with all
the appearances of the stock factory drivetrain backed by a
Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission, power steering and power
front disc brakes.
Ours has the factory correct cold air cleaned assembly in black,
topped with a four-barrel carburetor, blue painted Pontiac engine
and valve covers, speed control, factory exhaust headers, air
conditioning, and all sitting in a very clean and detailed engine
compartment.
Interior
The interior features the always expected plush Pontiac full white
leather bench seat with pull down armrest and headrests in the
center front seat with the equally plush matching huge rear seat.
It has all the power accessories you would expect in a Top-Of-
The-Line Pontiac including the Tilt Steering Column, Power Windows,
Power Door Locks, Power Seat, Cruise Control, Air Conditioning,
Dual Sport Mirrors, Aftermarket Stereo System (below the dash) as
well as the factory AM/FM/8 track tape player Radio in the
dash.
The interior also has all black carpeting with matching side door
panels, three-spoke factory Pontiac steering wheel, wood grain dash
with all the high quality gauges including the rare fuel mileage
Vacum gauge!
Exterior
The exterior is painted in a bright Ruby Red flowing over the
full-length body lines and contrasted by the White Power
Convertible top with a matching white boot.
All the trim, chrome front and rear bumpers, emblems, glass, and
front grill are as new as they should be on this car as it only has
35,705 original miles on it and it shows.
It rolls on thin whitewall radial tires with original Pontiac sport
mag wheels. Even the trunk is well appointed with its factory grey
trunk mat and spare tire cover, full size spare, and tire jack and
stand.
Conclusion
Our 1975 Pontiac Grand Ville Brougham 455 convertible we have here
at Adventure Classics is a rare car that had low production volume
and was the high water mark for Pontiac luxury that year.
It is a full-size collector car with a big 455 cubic inch engine,
painted in bright red with a white convertible top, what more could
