1966 Chevrolet SS Nova
Car History
We have a perfect example of a stock and original numbers matching
drivetrain 1966 Chevy Nova II that had a rotisserie restoration and
looks amazing, here at Adventure Classics.
It is equipped with the original L79 327 cubic inch 350 horsepower
numbers matching Turbo-Fire V8 Engine with a 4-Barrell carburetor,
original 4-Speed manual transmission and 12-Bolt Rear-End.
I cannot describe here how clean, immaculate outside, inside, and
underneath that this L79 car is!
Mechanical
Our 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Super Sport L79 has just been
recently restored in its original Marina Blue and is a real V8 SS
by VIN tag and was equipped with the legendary L79 327/350
horsepower factory original small block.
It has all the original type parts on it like chrome valve covers,
power brakes, power steering, factory aluminum intake, performance
numbers matching carb, correct factory dual exhaust, correct dual
snorkel air cleaner assembly, factory orange paint on the block,
even the windshield bottle still attached to the inner fender, and
all sitting in a spotless and detailed engine compartment.
Power goes to the ground via the correct code 4-Speed manual
transmission and the correct code Chevy II 12 bolt rear axle with
3.73 gears and rides on 14' painted steel wheels with factory
correct spinner hubcaps and thin whitewall tires.
Interior
The inside of our Nova is as nice as the outside with its SS
options including a black twin bucket seat interior that was both
simple and functional and is in perfect condition.
While bucket seats and a center console were an option in the
Chevelle SS by '67, they were standard fare in the Nova SS with the
matching rear seat along with the black dash, factory gauges, radio
delete plate, wood steering wheel, matching door panels, floor
mats, and a factory center console with the chrome 4-speed
shifter.
Exterior
The Chevy II underwent a complete restyling in 1966 into what many
people consider the most desirable example of the marquee. This is
a legendary performance package that is ready for show in its
stunningly restored original color.
This Nova SS has just completed a restoration to its original color
of Marina Blue exterior with the great contrasting black vinyl
top.
All the other body pieces like the grille, SS emblems, cross-flag
327 engine emblems, chrome bumpers front and rear, and trim was
replaced or redone to perfection and it looks great, sounds great
and runs as great as it looks since too.
Conclusion
Chevrolet was smart enough to put a 327 V8 engine in these Novas
which gave them a good power-to-weight ratio and they were a fast
little muscle car.
This completely restored 1966 Chevrolet SS L79 Nova we have here at
Adventure Classics is a very original example of those
pocket-rockets of 1967. It is very fast due to its engine size and
very light weight and looks better than it did when it was brand
new.
It is a true SS in this world of clones and copies and it has the
iconic L79 350 horse 327 cubic inch small block Chevrolet engine, a
great restoration of the entire car, great paint, and a wicked
sound and stance.
If you want a great example of the SS Chevy II, this one is for
you.
