This 1953 Mercury has plenty of street machine flair. And when you
see how they updated the whole package with styling true to the
vintage roots, it makes for a vibrant coupe that could have fit in
on the set of American Graffiti.
Mercurys just seem to always get noticed on the classic car scene,
especially when done for added style. They shaved plenty of the
trim, and that seems to give an even sleeker sense of style to the
vibrant blue paint. This has all the best cruiser details, like
bright wraparound chrome bumpers, two-piece wheel w/whitewalls,
rear fender skirts, and taillights borrowed from a Cadillac. Hidden
within the flair is also a good showing of the fundamentals. For
example, this retains the full-length side trim, and the way it
appears like an almost unbroken line shows off the quality fit of
the panels.
The attractive blue continues inside, and now it's joined by a
tasteful white. It looks especially nice on the seats where comfy
cloth inserts have an almost tuck and roll kind of style. And this
pattern is even repeated on the doors. A large car like this has
plenty of room for family and friends. And while this is a great
premium cruiser for everyone, it's the driver who gets to enjoy
this the most. That's why you not only got the artful steering
wheel and long speedometer, but also the space between those has
all the essential controls. And in a cool interior like this, the
additions of the auxiliary gauge trio and Hurst Indy floor shifter
heighten the Saturday night cruiser feeling.
The engine bay nicely mixes vintage and new. The flathead V8 has
some great classic custom upgrades, like the Edelbrock head covers,
Weiand intake, and two dual-barrel carburetors on top. Plus, this
is stronger for driving in today's work thanks to a 12-volt system
upgrade and an electronic distributor with a new coil. You have a
glasspack-style dual exhaust that gives this V8 a nice tone, and
the three-speed manual transmission gives you good control over it
all.
This is the distinctive classic that loves to be a true premium
cruiser. And at an affordable price like this, you know this total
package is irresistible. Call today!!!
