your consideration. This retro-styled vehicle is powered by GM's
5.3L LM4 V8 motor which is paired with a 4-speed automatic
transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels and with an easy to
locate traction control off switch, there is more than enough
horsepower to get the rear wheels spinning if desired.
This SSR is finished in the appropriately named color of Smokin'
Asphalt over a black leather interior. Both are in good condition
and make for a sinister appearance. Chevrolet gave the SSR large
5-spoke wheels which complemented the already muscle car-focused
styling.
While the SSR has the power and the styling of a purebred muscle
car, it also has the comfort features of a modern vehicle. It has a
power-operated hardtop, power windows, power locks, air
conditioning, disc brakes, power steering, and an AM/FM/Bluetooth
radio. This example is fitted with an aftermarket Boss Audio radio
unit that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
The SSR debuted at the Detroit auto show in 2000 and the reaction
was immediate, customers ran into their local Chevy dealership to
reserve their spot in line for the concept that was soon to become
a reality in 2003. These have been very sought after over the years
