The cool Bandit-like style is what first caught your eye on this
1986 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. But it's the fuel-injected V8,
overdrive transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, loaded interior,
and T-top that really makes this full package irresistible.
These third-generation T/As were some of the most aggressive to
come out. They were able to combine sharp-edge styling with
well-rounded fender flares. It's this kind of intimidating style
that's perfect for an outlaw like the Bandit, and so we love the
upgrade. There's also some precedent for a car like this. The black
with gold lower portion was the kind that Jerry Reed drove in
Smokey and the Bandit III. This car was repainted a few years ago,
and so it has a sleek shine that shows less use than many of its
peers. And this one really has all the best pieces, like the
updated louvered hood, full-width rear spoiler, and lattice wheels.
And the Phoenix hood bird is a true icon.
The gray interior has a quality feel. The seats, door panels,
carpet, and headliner have a new-like appearance. Front high-back
buckets and a center console make for a good driver's car. The
three-spoke sports steering wheel is on a tilt column to give you a
clear view to the sporty round gauge package. It's also loaded with
power windows, power locks, a Viper alarm, keyless entry, and
provisions for air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow
ideally cold again.) And the sound system has been fully upgraded.
You have an AM/FM/CD stereo with USB and Bluetooth. It connects to
a fully upgraded speaker system with a custom subwoofer enclosure
in the trunk. So this seems like the ideal car to take out the
T-top and crank up your favorite music.
Under the hood is the optional 350 cubic-inch V8. It's a strong
torque-filled heart that has the power and consistency of fuel
injection. And you'll love the sound it makes from the Borla
muffler on the quad-tip exhaust. The V8 mated to a 700R4 four-speed
automatic to make for an ideal combo of stout construction and
smooth shifting all the way into overdrive. More of this good
all-around driver feeling is in the power steering, cruise control,
sway bars front & rear, and four-wheel power disc brakes.
This is the fun/cool Bandit tribute that also has all the features
you love. So at a price like this, it's a total package that will
be moving quickly. Call now!
