Vehicle Description
The Pacer was the most modern car design that AMC ever put on the
road. It was produced from 1975 to 1980. It had rack and pinion
steering and a cross flow radiator. It also had larger doors which
allowed more room for the passenger to get in and out easily. The
Pacer also had the best new car introduction in AMC history. They
had to increase production several times to keep up with the
demand. The Pacer was built with the consumer in mind, it wasn't
just another car pumped out of production lines to be offered for
sale. The passenger door was intentionally made 4 inches longer
than the driver door to encourage passengers to enter the car
curbside.
