Vehicle Description
This particular 1987 560SL was sold new in Denver, CO and stayed
within the same family on the Colorado front range, up until 2016
when it was acquired by the current owner who moved the car to the
Rockies' western slope in Durango, CO. At that time the car
registered about 62,000 miles on the clock. Upon purchasing the
convertible, the current owner had the car completely sorted to
address all issues that needed attention at the time. Among other
things the following items were worked on: time chain tensioner,
A/C system, radiator replacement, etc. all for a total of over
$6000. Highly reputable Mercedes-Benz service and restoration shops
such as Goody's Automotive of Scottsdale, AZ and Transcendental
Finishes of Prescott, AZ performed all the work. All of its life
the 560SL was lightly driven, Mercedes-Benz dealer serviced and
always pampered. Furthermore it benefited from the dry climate and
salt-free roadways of the Denver area and the Southwest. As a
result, it is absolutely rust free and shows an incredibly original
"dry" undercarriage.
The SL comes in the very rare and attractive color combination of
Light Ivory on Dark Brown leather and still retains its 100%
original paint and interior. The car was never in an accident and
all panels and gaps are correct and confirms the accident-free
records. Aside for a few blemishes such as the normal minor rock
chips and superficial scratches to be expected on a 69,000 miles
car this convertible's condition is impeccable and a testimony of
the decades' long attention from its past two owners.
The car comes with its original matching color hard-top, manuals,
service records and tools.
