Vehicle Description
The speedy appearance, full blackout package, five-speed stick,
four-wheel disc brakes, and enhanced V8 power all make this 1967
Ford Mustang a true dark horse. But don't forget to also check out
all the nice features, including the leather-lined A/C interior,
that makes this one the total package.
In 1967 Ford updated the Mustang's styling to make it a bit meaner.
This example takes that feeling to a whole new level. The slick
black paint has an instant presence. Not only is it a nice modern
clearcoat application, but also it looks particularly intimidating
with upgrades like the fiberglass cowl hood and sleek sides with
expertly deleted trim. It also takes some of its aggressive cues
from some of the best first-gen cars of the day. For example, the
deep chin spoiler looks like it belongs on a Boss 429, the side
scoops look like a Shelby piece, and the integrated rear spoiler
was inspired by the California Special. And not only do you have
modern 18-inch alloys, but also the Halibrand-style design is pure
Cobra.
There have been plenty more investments inside to keep this crisp,
dark, and nice. This car wants to be both speedy and comfortable,
and the front seats set that off perfectly. These are upgraded
buckets with plenty of bolstering for both comfort and to keep you
planted in the corners. And they're finished in supple leather. The
stereo is a new AM/FM/XM tuner with USB and Bluetooth, and it's
connected to a full subwoofer speaker system. There's also a cup
holder center console, and we know you'll love the cold-blowing
R134a air conditioning. It's also set up to be a driver's machine
with upgrades like the sports steering wheel on a tilt column,
power steering, RS-1 aluminum pedals, and a shifter with a bright
cue ball calling out to you from within this dark interior.
Under the hood is a tidy engine bay with a unique liner paint to
give it a macho look. Ford's hardy 289 cubic-inch V8 is a terrific
powerhouse, and we have receipts documenting about $10k invested
here between now and 2020. This includes a new flat tappet cam,
GT40 heads, and a valve springs/lifters package. It inhales deeply
with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake,
and it exhales with authority as Patriot headers add power while
contributing to the rumble of the dual exhaust. It's a powerful
package that also has the right supporting components, like a Monte
Carlo bar, HEI ignition, and an aluminum radiator. The five-speed
manual transmission gives you better control over the powerband
than any factory '67 Mustang ever did. Plus, the four-wheel power
disc brakes give you superior stopping power, too.
Means, sleek, and upgraded - this is the classic Mustang coupe that
