this car.
Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer low mileage and very rare
1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA Notchback in excellent condition. This
Trans Am looks fantastic, runs well, and is an excellent driver.
The Flame Red Metallic (74) over Black interior (19) is a beautiful
color combination that looks great on the car. It is also the
correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the
data sticker, which is pictured below. This is an excellent
opportunity to own a rare classic Trans Am that is ready to be used
and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car
now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come
as the market on the third generation F-bodies (Firebird and
Camaro) is strong right now and on the rise, especially for very
low mileage and rare examples like this car. The low original
mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also
the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as
"Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, the extensive list of
option codes, video, and information to get a true sense of how
nice, clean, and original this Trans Am really is.
This GTA is exceptionally rare as only 718 Notchback cars were
produced. This GTA is verified as a authentic and original
notchback by RPO code AA8 on the options sheet inside the center
console, and by the matching VIN tag on the rear hatch. The
notchback option included the flat rear decklid with a small rear
window, and it also changed the rear seats to have an integrated
headrest, as shown in the photos.
As a side note, this Pontiac Trans Am is not a dealer auction
vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our
classics come from owners who expect their car to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have
the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.
We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Trans Am, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Flame Red Metallic exterior is in excellent driver condition.
As one can see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss, deep
shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely. The Gold
diamond spoke wheels and center caps are in good condition with no
curb rash. The BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2 tires are in great shape
with plenty of life left. There are no major imperfections that
have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some
very tiny blemishes that were too small to show up in the pictures,
but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet
away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the
car, it is very clean underneath. The frame is totally solid with
no rust around the rear spring mount. We have included specific
photos of the rear spring mounts, rockers, lower quarter panels,
and the areas most prone to rust to show how nice this car
looks.
Interior
The Black interior in this Trans Am is in amazing condition. The
seats are in great shape and look as good in person as they do in
the photos with no rips, tears, or excessive wear. The seat is not
worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in
and out. The carpet is also in great condition with no stains,
holes, or tears. This includes the rear carpet, which is often
neglected. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are
crystal clear. The door panels are in excellent shape overall and
the door pulls are solid and intact. The car has a very expensive
stereo system that sounds amazing. The original radio is also
included with the sale of the car.
Trans Am interiors from this era are not known to wear well, and
the excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the
meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its
life.
Mechanical
This Trans Am seems to be in good mechanical condition. The car
starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It
drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In
the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the
highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking
to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there
are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well
overall. The brakes do not pull to one side or the other. The
transmission shifts well through the power band with a very crisp
shift almost like it has a shift kit. There is no blue smoke when
starting or driving the car. The car runs cool and does not
overheat. This Trans Am has plenty of power and is quite fast.
Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and
correct as one can see in the photos.
Please note in the video that all of the warning lights work
properly. They light up when the key is first turned on and then go
off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" or
other warning lights that stay on. The wipers work as do the
exterior lights, indicators, dash lights, and rear window
defroster. All of the gauges work. The blower for the heater and
a/c works on all speeds. Both headlights op up properly. The
complete operation of the headlights, brights, and turn signals can
be viewed in the video in this ad. There are a few items that do
not work such as the power antenna, power locks, and horn. The a/c
blew cold when we first purchased the car, but does not blow that
cold now so the Freon may need to be recharged. The car has a very
healthy exhaust note with no catalytic converter as one can hear in
the video. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it
is to drive this car.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1988 Trans Am GTA is in magnificent driver condition.
The low miles, the beautiful original color combination, the rare
notchback option, and the excellent overall condition make this car
especially important and hard to duplicate. It is very hard to find
a Firebird or Camaro from this era that is still in great condition
with low mileage as most were used and abused. This Trans Am always
gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is apparent that
the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. The
prices of third generation GM "F-Body" cars have increased
considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise
investments for a collector. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson
stars of the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for
several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with
minimal effort.
Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call
