Vehicle Description
1964 Corvette Convertible
We just acquired this very nice 1964 Corvette from a longtime owner
(28 years). He traded the car to a local dealer for a new C8 and in
our minds as cool as the new C8 is, it's not a "MID YEAR" However
the previous owner did love this car. Just one look tells me he
wasn't into owning a NCRS points car but a car he can cruise in and
just have fun with. CHECK IT OUT !!
We were told that this car had recently underwent a cosmetic
restoration. The body appears to be original and is very nice solid
and extremely clean including it's birdcage and underside. It was
repainted in "Satin Silver" in base/clear using a big block stinger
hood with black stripe. It is absolutely gorgeous and has been cut
& buffed to a show car shine !! Most of the chrome, trim and
weather stripping were replaced as well and look new and the black
convertible top is also in really good condition too. The interior
was also redone new and restored to correct "490 BB" blue vinyl
including the seats, door panels and carpets. It is VERY-VERY NICE
!! Power comes from a strong running. date coded and casting number
correct 327 c.i. engine. Unfortunately the block has been decked
during it's rebuild so there are no numbers on it's pad. We were
told that it was rebuilt using L79 double hump heads, cam and an
original L79 Snow flake aluminum intake manifold with Holley carb.
All we know for sure is that it sounds awesome and runs super
strong. It is backed up by a tight shifting Muncie 4 speed
transmission with Hurst shifter and a 3:42 gear set. Other features
include new dual exhaust, American Racings old school Torq Thrust D
5 spoke wheels, upgraded retro sound stereo and lots of new
steering & suspension components have been replaced too. She runs
out excellent and really is a blast to drive. In our minds this car
is the epidemy of how to have fun owning Mid Year Corvette. Don't
miss it !!
