Stunning factory black AMX! Built on the first day of 1970
production. Vin # 100076, the 76th AMC made. This is a really nice
57,000 mile car. Very desirable Ram Air GoPack, 4 speed, posi with
power disc brakes and power steering. The GoPack was a performance
option that included Ram Air engine, power disc brakes, twin grip
posi rear, handling package, heavy duty cooling, space saver spare
and the power blister hood.
EXTERIOR: Wow is this a sharp looking AMX. It is literally straight
as a rifle barrel, every square inch. I don't see any damage, rust,
blisters or cracking. The paint is polished smooth and glossy. Door
jambs are clean, painted glossy. Weatherstrips were replaced. Up
front the bumper is rechromed, the grill is in really nice shape.
The stainless moldings, door handles, emblems are very good
original. The rear bumper has been rechromed, the taillight lense
is excellent. The glass is nice and clear. The wheels are restored
and have new shiny trim rings. The BFGoodrich tires are in
excellent shape.
INTERIOR: Excellent condition. All the carpet front to back is
excellent. The seats have new upholstery. Headliner, visors and
mirror are excellent. Door panels are excellent. The dash pad is
excellent, the instrument panel is real nice. The gauges, wood
grain, heater control panel are very nice. It has a walnut wheel on
a tilt column. There is an Alpine stereo with 6x9 speakers in back
and an amplifier.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has the original 390 motor, the codes and
dates on the valve cover tag are correct and 390 is cast on the
block. It features functional ram air, power steering and power
brakes. The engine was claimed to have been rebuilt, it runs
strong. It has nice fresh paint, rechromed valve covers. The
components look stock and proper. It was upgraded with a chromed
Holley carb and Doug's headers. The fan shroud, pulleys, hood
insulation, washer bag all look good. The solenoid on the hood that
opens the Ram air works. The engine bay is clean metal painted
nicely.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid metal, very neatly spatter painted.
Jamb and bottom of the trunk lid are painted gloss black. It has
new stickers, weatherstrip and trunk mat. It also has the
collapsible spare with the air bottle and jack.
UNDERSIDE: Very tidy and clean underneath. The front end components
are clean. In back it has air shocks, new leaf springs. Looking up
at the motor it's spotless. The 4-speed is clean. The rear end has
3.54 posi gears. The dual exhaust has glass packs, sounds great.
Disc brakes in front. The floor is rock solid with factory
undercoat. It was cleaned up and freshened with black paint.
This is a good car. A man bought it when it was 1 year old and
owned it most of it's life. I got it from a collector that has
several high quality cars. Eddie Stakes, an AMC expert and hosts
the AMC website Planet Houston, knows of this car. He says it's the
earliest known 1970 AMX.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
