Vehicle Description
Zoom Classic Cars presents this beautiful 1973 De Tomaso Pantera L.
This beautifully designed and first American mid engine sports car
created by Alejandro DeTomaso and backed by the might of the Ford
Motor Company was produced by Italian manufacturer De Tomaso and
designed by American born Tom Tjaarda who worked for Italian design
firm Carrozzeria Ghia. The Pantera was the automaker's most popular
model, with over 7,000 manufactured over its twenty-year production
run. More than three quarters of the production was sold by
American Lincoln-Mercury dealers from 1972 to 1975 including this
1973. The car replaced the more expensive Mangusta. This particular
example has been owned by the current owner for more than 25 years
and features the 351CI 330HP 4 bolt main Cleveland engine with
solid lifters, Holley carb set up and mild cam presented in a very
clean engine compartment. Transmission is the 5 speed stock German
ZF with racing gearbox and new 9 inch Centerforce hydraulic clutch.
The car goes 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 160 MPH.
The car has 4 wheel independent suspension and power assisted disc
brakes all around. For the US market, the car featured a large
single front bumper that was designed to reduce the front end lift.
Car was repainted in stock color Flame Red serveral years ago by
Wareham Ford in MA. The body was completely disassembled, prepped
and painted and then expertly reassembled. Durng the reassembly all
of the rubber and felts were replaced. The paint is still in
overall excellent condtion. Interior features black bucket seats in
great condition, clean dash with no splits or cracks and a new
headliner. The car features the spoiler wing which was a $600
option back in 73. Tires are P25560R15 in the rear and 22550R15 in
the front. All the glass in the car is original and in very nice
condition. Only glass flaw is an inside crack in the passenger
corner of the windshield as shown. All the gauges in the car work
as they should. Pantera insignia carpets. Trunk compartment is
clean and contains the factory spare tire with insignia cover, Jack
with Pantera Tool Kit. The car has a clean title, has passed recent
MA inspection and comes with many extra original parts including
radiator and set of original bucket seats, a folder containing 25
years of parts and service receipts and numerous editions of
Pantera Magazine. A thrilling sports car that blends robust
American running gear with svelte Italian design. Needless to say
that this is one striking vehicle that runs and drives excellent
and sounds great! If you have been in the market for a clean
Pantera that has been well maintained and always garaged through
the years, then give Jeff a call to check this one out. CAR IS
STORED IN MA. Now $94,900 for Spring 2022. Thanks for looking.
