For Sale: 1981 Jeep CJ in Mooresville, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

HIGHLIGHTS: Southern Jeep! Well-appointed classic CJ ready for fun daily use! Red on black! Multiple top configurations! Inline six with a 4-speed!

BODY OVERVIEW: The body on this Jeep is in great shape, with the exterior being very straight and the tub in good condition for its age. This Jeep appears to be largely or completely original sheet metal, and like most CJs there is some minor rust near the body mount areas. Overall, this is a nicely preserved Jeep. The photos are very representative of the body condition!

PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: The paint is in great overall condition. The vibrant red is certainly eye-catching, with a nice glossy finish! There are very few paint imperfections, and the few that are visible are normal signs of use rather than signs of mistreatment. The paint has lots of depth, and this Jeep looks classic & fantastic in this color combination.

INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The black interior is in great shape, and the Bestop bucket seats are both a welcome and an attractive upgrade. There is no doubt that this Jeep has been treated right! A center console complete with cup holders as well as a nicely upgraded stereo system complete the interior.

MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood is an AMC 258 (4.2L) inline six cylinder. This legendary AMC powerplant spawned the more widely known 4.0L Jeep engine, and is one of the most desirable power choices for a CJ. This Jeep fires right up, and sounds fantastic through the OEM-style muffler. It drives straight, steers tightly, and the engine simply purrs.
The lack of a lift and well-fitted tires make this Jeep a pleasure to drive, which is pretty hard to come by in a CJ-7. This is the perfect option for fair-weather daily driving!

WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: Modifications are at a minimum, and it retains that classic 1980s Jeep look!

WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: Jeeps aren't everyone's cup of tea, but this thing drives great! If you're looking for a 110% restored show car, this isn't it, but it is a super nice driver.

DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? Everything works! Turn-key ready!

WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? This Jeep is for the buyer looking for a road-ready Jeep they can drive and enjoy the same day they buy it. If you're looking for a Jeep that drives well enough that you can easily drive it daily in nice weather, this is the Jeep for you!
