Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1952 Austin A40 Somerset.
Finished in turquoise over a brown tweed interior, this is a nicely
restored example that runs and drives well. Nice paint quality over
a straight and solid body. Good bumpers, trim, glass, wheels and
hubcaps. Correct whitewall tires.
Interior presents nicely with new upholstery, door panels, carpets
and headliner. Gauges, original switchgear and lights (including
the trafficators) are working properly.
Under the hood is an Austin 1200 cc four cylinder engine mated to a
four-speed column-shift manual transmission. This car starts easily
and runs well; clutch, gearbox and shift linkage all function as
they should.
The Somerset was the third vehicle in Austin's post-war A40 line
and replaced the Dorset and the Devon, continuing in the tradition
of naming the models after counties in England. As this example is
left-hand drive, it was likely originally made for the U.S. market.
It's a charming car with lots of character for a reasonable price
point. For more information about this 1952 Austin A40 Somerset for
sale at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, please call 404-692-5250.
