Vehicle Description
We know you're checking out this 1932 Ford Highboy roadster because
it looks like it could be that perfect one where a bold street
machine has all the right upgrades. After all, there are cool
design touches everywhere, right down to the removable hardtop. So
when a low-mileage V8 custom is up for grabs, it's time to take
notice.
You can just picture rolling down a fresh strip of blacktop in a
bold yellow icon like this, can't you? This bright modern hue is
going to look memorable out on the boulevard. This Highboy has less
than 900 miles on the full build, and so the fiberglass body and
steel hood show quality craftsmanship with zero interference from
items like handles to get in the way of the smooth-flowing
presentation. There's extra sleekness in the details, like the
color-matched grille, lowered windshield, and flush-mounted
taillights. In fact, just to show you how smooth the presentation
is, you have purple, magenta and blue metallic stripes painted up
the profile. And while the custom style doesn't carry as much
brightwork as a more traditional build, we like how that draws
added attention to the remaining pieces, like the polished
suspension components and Boyds wheels.
The color-matched hardtop is such a well-done piece that it almost
makes this car look like a coupe. But a car like this often looks
its best when open to the world. That's why you have a tasteful
tobacco brown interior. This has some nice comforts with a
contoured seat, plush carpeting, and an AM/FM/CD stereo w/aux input
under the seat. It's built with nice driver's details, like the
Lecarra sports steering wheel with matching brown grip. And not
only is the dash full of crisp VDO gauges, but there's also a tach
mounted to the steering column.
A motor this nice deserves to be on display for the world to see.
That's why you have the option of taking out the side panels
whenever you want. Just like the rest of this build, the engine bay
is a very uniform presentation where nearly everything is either
polished or an exterior-matching yellow. We especially like the
color-matched engine block, and also the flame theme that starts on
the air topper and moves to the valve covers. More than just look
great, this is a hardy Chevy 350 cubic-inch V8 topped with a Carter
competition-series four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock aluminum
intake. You'll also spot good supporting components, including the
steel braided lines, AN fitting, and an electric fan. The motor
fires up nicely and makes a sweet rumble from the glasspack-style
dual exhaust. But don't just listen to the pipes; take a look in
the undercarriage photos. There you will see a fully painted
underside, which really lets you know the full quality of this
build. And don't forget to check out the custom reinforced frame,
stout Ford 9-inch diff, and ladder bar rear end with Bilstein
coilovers. But more than just an award-worthy total presentation,
this is a good cruiser, too. With features like the three-speed
automatic transmission and front disc brakes, we know you won't be
able to resist adding miles to the low odometer.
This is an iconic classic with all the right standout touches. So
