This amazing dual quad E Code was purchased in good condition by a
collector in 1995 and subsequently sent off for a 3 year nut and
bolt, no expense spared restoration. The result is one of the best
Skyliners we've ever laid eyes on. The owner went on to acquire a
1958 and a 1959, but the 1957 was his favorite. We can see why...
dual 4 barrel carburetors, a 3 speed on the column, overdrive,
Select-Aire air conditioning, power windows and brakes and
Continental Kit.
The serial number on the frame designates this as an E Code car -
E7 and then the 44 at the end of the frame stamped VIN.
Decoding the data plate reveals the following information:
Body 51A - Two-door Skyliner convertible
Color VE - Flame Red and Colonial White
Trim BF - Red Airweave vinyl interior
Date 27V - Manufactured on August 27
Trans 2 - Overdrive
Axle 3 - 3.70:1 open rear end
Engine E - 312ci V8- Dual four-barrel carburetors
Production Year 7 - 1957
Assembly Plant K - Kansas City
Body Style W - Fairlane 500 Hide-Away Hardtop
Production Sequence - 180144
The car has a 1959 hood as the owner preferred this look. The 1957
hood was painted along with the restoration and comes with the
car.
This car drives as good as it looks and would make a wonderful
addition to any collection.
