2007 Ford Mustang Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition For Sale - Only 1,161 Miles From New LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 2007 Saleen Mustang Parnelli Jones Edition In 2007, Steve Saleen teamed up with Trans Am racing legend Parnelli Jones to create a special edition Mustang that's commonly known as the Saleen/Parnelli Jones S302. It was developed to honor Jones's racing legacy and was inspired by the Grabber Orange '70 Boss 302 race car he drove in the hard-fought SCCA series. More than an appearance package, Saleen built a 302-cubic-inch version of the 281-cubic-inch three-valve modular V-8 engine that powered standard Mustang GT models. Only 500 Parnelli Jones models were built and this Mustang is far more than just a surface cosmetic treatment, the transformation to Parnelli Jones Edition reflects Steve Saleen's famously thorough approach, with the added inspiration of working with Jones to achieve the look and performance to rival the original car. Together, they completely reworked Ford's 4.6L OHC V-8, increasing displacement and allowing it to rev more freely with an aluminum flywheel driving the stock Mustang 5-speed and 3.73:1 rear end. Breathing through a functional Shaker hood scoop and free-flowing exhaust, the V-8 produces a generous 400 HP at 6,000 RPM and 390 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPM. Handling was upgraded with Saleen Racecraft Watts linkage rear suspension and larger 14-inch Saleen front disc brakes. Visually, it emulated the 1970 Boss 302, with a shaker hood scoop, flat black hood accents, body side stripes (carefully calling out "302," but not including the word "Boss"), replica versions of the Mini-lite racing wheels, a retro rear spoiler, special side skirts and more. All were painted Grabber Orange. Inside, Grabber Orange inserts were added to the black leather seats, while the dashboard was signed by Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones. This outstanding example offered here for sale has only a mere 1,161 miles from new and remains in showroom new condition having been collector owned and climate controlled stored.
