Vehicle Description
This 1958 Ford Custom 300 may look like a cruiser, but it's really
a bruiser. That's because it may have a minty green appeal inside
and out, but beneath the surface is a dual-quad 427 V8 that you
control with four-on-the-floor.
The '58 Ford is an ideal car to turn into a sleeper. It already had
a muscle car kind of style straight from the factory with the hood
scoop, outstretched taillights, and the wide and intimidating front
end. But none of that gives away the power within, because it's
just part of the classic style. In fact, this car is finished in
its factory-correct Seaspray Green. You can tell extra time and
care when into both the paint and the body panels to restore it
with quality. There are nice details in the shining brightwork,
like how the bumper/grille combo is the main focus of the front
end, and the rear is notched to fit the license plate. There's even
a tasteful gold side trim that coordinates with the classic
hubcaps. So you might just mistake this for a nice guy
restoration...until you hear the mean exhaust rumble.
The interior continues the well-restored and vintage feeling. It's
a full sea of green, where there's even a triple-tone green on the
door panels and bench seats. There's plenty of room for family and
friends, and if they are vintage lovers, there's plenty to see. You
have the classic thin/grippy three-spoke steering wheel, sweeping
speedo, and the AM radio is there for display. Even the trunk looks
clean and correct. Your only real hint at an upgrade under the hood
is the Hurst floor shifter.
The engine bay can no longer contain the ruse of just a clean
classic. The polished valve covers and ling air grabber announce
you have an awesome 427 cubic-inch V8 heart. And while big block
power is usually enough for most of us, this one goes much further.
It has a mild cam and an aluminum intake with dual Holley
four-barrel carburetors on top. It's a strong motor that loves to
make a powerful sound out of the Flowmaster dual exhaust. And the
four-speed manual transmission means you're in firm control of it
all. It's a car that likes you to feel the road, but it's also
built to be a true driver. The clutch has an easy feel; there's an
aluminum radiator to help keep this one running cool; and you have
the grip of wide radial tires. So it's quite easy and fun to take
this custom Ford Custom out for a drive.
Very vintage and very powerful, this is a very cool sleeper street
machine. So if you love a cool classic, you know you can't let this
one slip away. Call today!!!
