It is powered by a peppy twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 motor which is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Power is routed to all four wheels through a full time all wheel drive system with viscous coupling limited slip rear differential. Providing amazing handling and steering feel is the four wheel independent suspension with electronically controlled three stage shock absorbers. Four wheel vented disc brakes provide the stopping power and even have 4-piston calipers in the front. A unique feature that was standard on the VR4s was four wheel steering that allowed for the vehicle to have a higher resistance to side load forces during high speed cornering. The rear wheels only had a maximum turning degree of 1.5 degrees, but it makes for an unbelievable driving experience.

This example is finished in a striking Monza Red exterior over a grey interior. It has been left completely stock with no gaudy aftermarket modifications to be found. It rides on 17 inch tires wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport Z-rated tires. The VR4 also included active aero with an automatic lowering front air dam and spoiler that raises by 14 degrees. This significantly changed the drag coefficient of the car and at the time was top-of-the-line race car technology available on a production sports car. Mitsubishi shared some of its technology with the Dodge Stealth of the day but the enthusiast sought out the 3000GT VR4 as the top of the line and most coveted.
