For Sale: 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS in Colchester, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1966 Chevrolet Chevelle 396 SS

Numbers matching.

This is a 4 owner car, spending all of it's life here in southern New England. manufactured in the Framingham, MA plant and shipped off to Westchester, NY where it was sold at Prial Chevrolet/Oldsmobile/Jaguar to it's first owner. She was then purchased by another NY resident in 1996 and then went to her CT owner in the early 2000's. The third owner did a good deal of work to her in terms of modern modifications.

However, from the factory, she was fairly well equipped. Ordered in Aztec Bronze with a matching Bronze interior, it came to the dealer with power steering, power disc brakes (in front, drums out back), 12 bolt posi rear diff, astro bucket seats, seat belts, center console (with clock), tinted windshield, rear speaker, 396/325hp Big Block V8 and Muncie 4 speed. Definitely quite a driver in her day and still would be... Then the third owner came onto the scene and brought her up a notch or two.

He installed a crate 498 CI monster big block putting out over 500 hp and 600 lb ft of torque. That sets power to the original 12 bolt via a Tremac 5 speed manual. He had her repainted in the original color. Vintage air has been installed and blows cold. A set of AutoMeter/AutoGauge gauges keep track of oil pressure, temp, voltage and RPMs. He also replaced the stock 4 links arms with round aftermarket items and poly bushings and installed a rear sway bar and replaced the trunk floor.. Lastly, all that is transferred to the ground via BFG radial T/A 255/60/15 in back and 235/60's up front. They are wrapped around 15" Chevy rally wheels.

The original numbers matching 396 and 4 speed are included with the car as are the original wheels, wheel covers, transmission cross-member and jack.

Also included is the original bill of sale from the dealership, the original protecto-plate and user manual.

The cars starts, runs and drives awesome. LOTS of power and with the sway bars front and rear, doesn't do too bad in the handling department. The odometer shows 48,000 miles...

I'd consider the car a #2 car with most everything looking like a #1 car.. there are a couple of small scratches/chips in the paint (I think 3) and the steering wheel and center console could be refinished, there is a very small crack on the underside of the dash near the center air vents.

The third owner sold it to his friend due to family issues and although he thought he would love the car, after a few months he doesn't seem all that attached to it, so he's decided to move her on to a new home.

Asking price on this sort of resto-mod-pro touring Chevelle, that could be brought back to stock with relative ease is $52,000

Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to meet her in person or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for the interest.
