The car is in unrestored condition. The mileage when purchased 57327, according to records is accurate. It had been painted some time before purchase in Florida in 1999. The paint is still in excellent condition with minor fading and zero rust. The convertible top is new and the top functions up and down perfect. The underside is clean and no leaks. The engine, transmission and rear end were rebuilt at mileage 58411. Due to the un-drivability issue, I had a conversion to power steering and power front disc breaks. The car is a very reliable driver and shows well. All gauges and original am radio work.
This is a 1963 Galaxie 500 XL convertible, G code: 406-405hp, tri-power, 4 speed. According to 2 sources; it was only available with a 4 speed transmission, and as few as 10were sold in convertible form.
