Vehicle Description
Collectible Motor car of Atlanta is proud to present this beautiful
1958 Edsel Pacer.
The Edsel Pacer was produced and sold by Edsel in 1958. The Pacer
was based on the shorter narrower Edsel platform, shared with Ford
and the Ranger. The Pacer represented a step up from the basic
Ranger model. The Pacer received contoured seat backs, nylon
upholstery cloth, color-keyed rubber floor mats, and extra
stainless-steel exterior and interior trim pieces and window
moldings.
When it comes to Edsel's, the 1958 Pacer is one of the best
looking, featuring all the trademark features from its inaugural
season. One of 7,141 examples built and a centerpiece of the
collection, it showcases the original color scheme of Powder Blue
and Frost White rear fenders with trademark contrasting color
inserts. This owner states the 1958 Edsel Pacer boasts 99,000
original miles.
This classic 4-door 1958 Edsel Pacer is powered by the 361-cu.in. E
400, so called because of its promised 400-lb.ft. at 2,800 RPM. The
engine is part of the FE family, and it combines the 3.50 stroke of
the Ford 352 with a larger 4.05-inch bore. The 303-hp E 400/361 had
a healthy 10.5:1 compression ratio and breathed through a
four-barrel carburetor, which allowed it to serve double duty in
Ford police cars.
A clean classic that had originally hailed from Texas and now
resides in Atlanta where it is stored in a climate-controlled
environment. This true classic has had the same owner for the last
15 years.
