Bolero Red paint is very nice driver quality. Moldings, emblems and exterior trim is complete and straight. Bumpers and all exterior chrome is very presentable. Simply an outstanding visual statement made by Pontiac in 1954.
Score on paint and body is a solid 8 .5 out of 10. Paint has imperfections, scratches and paint chips or paint touch ups.
Body and door lines are near perfect. Floors and trunk are rust free Southern California original steel. Very original in every respect and represents a time when the automobile was a fashion statement as much as it was transportation.
Newer Interior is Red And White vinyl with matching door panels and boot cover. Interior is very nice driver quality with new Red loop carpet. Red seat belts, very nicely restored steering wheel with sharp inner chrome trim horn ring. Horn, lights, turn signals operate as designed. Glass is in nice condition with side windows and wing windows fully operational. Some pitting of the side window chrome frames.
This car came equipped with duel spot lights as well as under seat heating and what was called air conditioning at the time.
This 54 Pontiac Convertible catches everyone’s eye and is a huge hit at cruise ins and shows. No exact numbers are known about the 54 Pontiac convertibles however the best Insiders in the hobby estimate there were less than 5,000 produced so it’s a rare site when you seem one in person.
The 1954 Pontiac Star Chief frame was 11 inches longer than a standard GM A-body chassis.
There are probably less than 100 in drivable operation today I’m the world. If your looking for a rare piece of Detroit Steel Americana then you found it. Drives and handles easy and comfy.
Star Chief comes complete with fender skirts, 6 extra rear upper fender stars and complete set of spare hubcaps. Original trunk bumper jack and spare wheel and tire are also included.
