This 1969 Plymouth Barracuda convertible is one of 1,442 produced for the model year and has been with a dealer for the past two months in Ontario, Canada. The car is offered for sale with documentation, spare parts and a number of upgrades completed over the past 6 weeks including a new clutch, electronic ignition and an electronic fuel pump. Power comes from a period-correct 340ci V8 paired with a manual transmission and equipment includes power steering, power brakes, AM/FM radio, dual exhaust and a 4-barrel carburetor. Finished in a recent respray of yellow, the car's exterior is accented by a black fabric convertible top, square-shaped dual exhaust tips at the rear and chrome bumpers and trimmings. Power steering is equipped to handle a set of 5-spoke aftermarket wheels wrapped in black-walled tires and power braking has been installed complete with front discs and rear drums. Suspension is comprised of a leaf-sprung solid axle rear and an independent torsion bar system on the front. The interior is outfitted in black vinyl upholstery coving the dash, door panels and bucket seating along with black carpeting and woodgrain accents to match. Equipment includes an AM/FM radio, heater/defroster, manual windows and locks and a center console-mounted Hurst shifter. Instrumentation consists of a steering column-mounted 8k-rpm tachometer and 120-mph speedometer while the 26,489-mile 5-digit odometer is reported to be inaccurate. Note that the factory tachometer, speedometer and coolant temperature dials are non-operable at this time. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 340ci V8 paired with a manual transmission which was swapped in place of the original 318ci V8. The 340 is dressed with aluminum cylinder heads, a high rise intake manifold, long tube headers and a 4-barrel carburetor. An electronic fuel pump and ignition system were installed 6 weeks ago along with a fresh clutch. Condition of the underside can be observed in the above photo and additional photos located in the gallery. The seller will include a number of spare parts, memorabilia and documentation with the sale of this 1969 Barracuda.
