Vehicle Description
"The 1971 El Camino again sported an entirely new look from that of
the previous year. Single headlamps now sat in square headlamp
extensions and the double stacked parking lamps were moved from the
bumper to the front corners of the fenders and doubled as side
markers. The 1971 El Camino trim was available in three levels
including the base model El Camino, the El Camino Custom, and the
El Camino SS454." - Ground Up
This 1971 Chevrolet El Camino SS Tribute was purchased at
Barrett-Jackson Northeast in 2017 and went into a collection and
was where it was driven very little. This El Camino is now finished
in what is called an Antique Green Poly with white SS stripes. This
paint on this El Camino presents very well, upon closer examination
of the paint you will find areas of solvent pop. A clear definition
of solvent pop is as follows: "When solvents are trapped throughout
the refinish process, small bubbles or pinholes can form in the
surface of the paint." When you step a few feet away from the
vehicle you will be hard pressed to find these areas.
This 1971 El Camino SS Tribute features a 454 cubic inch motor
mated to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. It pulls hard and
shifts smoothly through the gears with a great rumble from the dual
exhaust. Inside the car you will find a new interior complete with
a horseshoe shifter and complement of SS gauges. This El Camino is
heat delete.
