Description was changed 1/18/22 by the request of the previous
owner to include his description:
This 1947 Ford Convert was originally sold new in Phoenix Arizona
in 1947. It continued to live there until it's conversion into a
street rod. This body is totally rust free and has never had any
rust repair anywhere. Squeegees' Rod Shop in Phoenix did most of
the custom metal work. Front and rear bumpers along with front and
rear gravel pans were shortened 1 3/4 inches. Rear gravel pan was
welded and smoothed to the body. All bumper bolts were welded to
the bumpers then plated. Headlamps were frenched to the body and
parklamps/turn signals frenched as well. Amber lenses were
installed. Custom Gene Winfield tail lights frenched into the rear
fenders. Door bottoms were extended 1 3/4 and the rocker panels
were eliminated. Center windshield divider bar removed and v-butt
glass was installed. Outside door handles were removed and replaced
with solenoid actuated bear claw latches, These doors shut with
just a gentle click. 1941 Ford dash was installed with in dash A/C,
VDO gauges, and Alpine stereo CD. Newport 2 Speed electric wipers
have also been installed. Under the seat heater for those chilly
fall drives keeps everyone toasty. Hartz Cloth top with complete
headliner to eliminate buffeting at highway speeds. Top is one
button electric with new hydraulic rams and glass rear window.
Split bench front seat with fold down armrests, and rear seat and
door panels were trimmed in navy blue leather and cloth combo by
Mastercraft. Tilt column with Le Carrera leather steering wheel.
Italian wool carpet completes the interior. Side trim is custom
crafted brass that has been plated. Parking brake and neutral
safety switch ensures NSRA safety 23 approval. Front suspension is
Mustang II with power rack and pinion. QA1 shocks provide an
extremely smooth ride and 11 inch Granada rotors do the stopping.
Parallel rear leaf's support the Maverick V8 rear end with sway
bars both front and rear. Eric Vaughn real wheels with knock offs
provide the perfect look for this car. A 302 Ford was
professionally built by Tri Star E&T. The rotating assembly has
been balanced, new Edelbrock aluminum heads with a full roller cam
and rockers. New MSD ignition and wires. This engine dynode at 350
HP. The C-4 trans was rebuilt by Kennedy Transmission and includes
a new torque convert and a mild shift kit. There is only 12,000
miles on this new engine and trans. A full 21/2 inch exhaust with
Magnaflow mufflers and stainless tips complete the picture. The
body is finished in a custom mixed silver pearl/ Navy blue pearl
tutone. This is topped with a PPG Urethane clear that has been
sanded and buffed to very high standards. I have owned the car for
over 23 years. It has taken my family to many events across the
United States in total comfort as it's a great road car. It is
ready to drive anywhere/ anytime. As you can tell from this
description this car has many custom features not found in most
street rods. It was built with no corners cut. It would take more
than twice my price to have this car built today.
